Video: Sh*t Fashion Girls Say at New York Fashion Week
Hey Rosés,
Testing out some new products this evening reminded me that I’m still on my New York Fashion Week high, so I felt it appropriate to post another installment to the Sh*t Girls Say craze “Sh*t Fashion Girls Say at New York Fashion Week.”
via The Platform:
My favorite one-liners:
“If this outfit doesn’t get me on a street style blog I give up.”
“These are cab to curb heels only!”
“Ooh what’s in the gift bag?”
Hmmm, wondering if my outfit tonight will need a red lip…

Samantha Black: Fall/Winter 2012 Collection
Hey Rosés,
Just before the end of New York Fashion Week, designer Samantha Black transformed the historic Bowery Ballroom into the whimsical world of “Midnight Lux,” a romantic and bold vision for her Fall/Winter 2012 collection of Sammy B Designs. Celebrities and fashion glitterati filled the rows, while Top Model alumna Toccara Jones rocked the runway and DJ Amanda Seales set the mood. Before the show began we walked around the different VIP stations including a dessert and drink bar sponsored by Hpnotic Harmonie, and a make-up bar sponsored by Iman Cosmetics.

I wore my favorite Diane Von Furstenberg dress, peep-toe steel heel camel-colored Christian Louboutin’s, nude Smashbox Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio in Filter, red lips by NARS, and red Sephora for OPI nails in Sample Sale.

“Love and Hip Hop” star Olivia opened the show, wearing black tights and a gold corset leotard with sheer side panels. Her blonde hair with black layers was twisted into one long braid down the side.
Gold sequins resigned supreme on pants suits, long sleeve gowns and see-through backs. Bold black and navy colors donned the leather cutouts, fur vests, and textured gowns. Form fitting cocktail dresses and corsets added crisp romantic silhouettes.

Iman Cosmetics created smoky eyes and nude lips for the multi-ethnic models. Carol’s Daughter styled a variety of hair looks including long straight ends and sleek ponytails with the backs of heads shaved. Media credits also include Jones Magazine and The Diva Lounge.
Can’t wait to comb through this collection for my birthday dress later this year!

Mathieu Mirano: Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week
Hey Rosés,
Last week, I attended the best pre-Grammy show, the tents of New York Fashion Week at Lincoln Center! I covered the Mathieu Mirano Fall 2012 collection for fashion blogger Ashley Rudolph. Mathieu Mirano’s presentation in the Box theater featured ornate patterns, plush textures, and bold fall colors.
Metallic dusted gowns and structured skirt suits were interwoven with leather and fur accent pieces.
I loved the multi-ethnic models of European, Asian and African decent. Their clean minimalist makeup complimented the deep fall collection. Sleek hair was meticulously parted down the middle, and formed into a wrapped bun.

Texture On The Runway Show
Hey Rosés,
Hair Rules model – Texture on the Runway Show
To kick off Fashion Week Fall 2012, I joined my blogger buddies, Christina from LoveBrownSugar and Natasha from Asili Glam, for the Texture on the Runway show at the beautifully rustic City Winery in TriBeCa. Texture Media (parent company of naturallycurly.com) invited a variety of salons, stylists, and beauty brands to showcase their best textured hairstyles ranging from curls and crimps to braids and bouffants. The show featured Nick Arrojo salon of TLC’s What Not To Wear, Matrix, Hair Rules, Curls Unleashed and Minardi Luxury Color Care.

Before the show, I met with the salons and event sponsors at their booths. I discovered some great products with Champagne Beauty friendly ingredients for different skin and hair types.

Curls Unleashed Team
The show was hosted by naturallycurly.com founder Michelle Breyer and one of my favorite YouTube vloggers Taren Guy of Taren916. After the introduction, each salon and brand presented their best/most inspirational textured styles in a full runway show.
